I am Rabisankar Bhattacharjee, a passionate and dedicated tabla player rooted in the rich tradition of Indian classical music. My journey in tabla began during childhood under the guidance of my uncle, Shri Debendrasankar Bhattacharjee, who introduced me to the rhythmic nuances of the art. Later, I had the great fortune to refine my skills and deepen my understanding under the esteemed tutelage of Pandit Abhijit Banerjee, one of the most respected tabla maestros of our time.My playing reflects a blend of tradition and personal expression, shaped by years of rigorous training and heartfelt devotion.
I proudly represent the Farukhabad Gharana, known for its elegance, clarity, and intricate rhythmic patterns in the Indian tabla tradition. Over the years, I have performed on numerous prestigious stages and collaborated with a wide range of renowned artists. I have had the honor of accompanying legendary figures such as Baul Samrat Shri Purna Das Baul, Bhajan Samrat Shri Anup Jalota, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Pandit Ramesh Jule, and many more celebrated musicians.My musical journey continues with the same dedication and love for rhythm that first inspired me, as I strive to share the essence of tabla with audiences everywhere.
